Bawdy Storytelling is the Nation’s Original Sex and Storytelling show. This award-winning storytelling event features real people sharing their bona fide sexual exploits, live onstage. Bawdy’s storytellers are an eclectic mix of authors, poets, comedians and actors – along with real people just like you who have submitted their stories online and were chosen for their panache and sense of misadventure. Through coaching, rehearsals and more, each show is created from the audience submissions and a celebrity or two.
Dixie De La Tour, Bawdy Storytelling’s founder and curator, is equal parts educator, entertainer, and irreverent host. Dubbed ‘the Grande Dame of Dirty Storytelling,’ Dixie has turned curated salon storytelling into an art form by providing guidance and encouragement while serving as Bawdy’s stage mom, talent scout, and talk show host. She weaves her own stories into each show, and performs across the country.

Porchlight has been showcasing San Francisco storytellers since 2002. Founded by Arline Klatte and Beth Lisick as a way of getting people onstage to tell their true stories, the shows continue to attract new audiences and storytellers each month at the Verdi Club and Hemlock Tavern. In addition to collaborating each year with Sketchfest, Porchlight has worked with the San Francisco Film Festival, the Contemporary Jewish Museum, the Bay Area Science Festival, the Storymoja Hay Festival in Nairobi and Shakespeare and Co. in Paris. Mortified: The Extra Dirty Version- Featuring Mortified's dirtiest, raunchiest pieces ever! Hear the strange, hilarious and embarrassing things teenagers wrote about sex from their actual diaries, songs, letters, and more!

Selling out shows for 10yrs Mortified is the largest and longest-running project of its kind. Hailed a "cultural phenomenon" by Newsweek and featured frequently on This American Life, Mortified is a comic excavation of teen angst artifacts (journals, poems, letters, lyrics, home movies, schoolwork) as shared by their original authors  in front of total strangers.

Where else can you hear grown men and women confront their past with firsthand tales of their first kiss, first puff, worst prom, fights with mom, life at bible camp, worst hand job, best mall job, and reasons they deserved to marry Bon Jovi?

Participants include a wide range of people, from professional performers (comics, celebrities, singers) to total amateurs (architects, ad execs, salesmen) all in the noble pursuit of personal redemption through public humiliation. Share the shame.
