Rhea Butcher

Rhea Butcher grew up in Akron, Ohio, as a skateboarder and fine artist. She then cut her teeth comically in Chicago at the Second City and iO before starting her career in standup. Bringing a ladyís James Dean type cool and highly personal jokes, Rhea has performed at clubs like Zanies, the Jukebox, and Flappers; alternative Chicago comedy institutions like Chicago Underground Comedy, The Hideout and The Lincoln Lodge. Rhea was part of the first Chicago Womenís Funny Festival and the OutLoud Chicago Queer Comedy contest winner of 2012. She also helped to launch, produce and host Performance Anxiety at the Pleasure Chest, which is a Midwest spinoff of the highly successful LA version created by TJ Miller. She has opened for the likes of Maria Bamford and Bobcat Goldthwait. After moving to LA in fall 2012, Rhea quickly got to work in her new city and recently produced and hosted the first of a series of sold out Qweirdo shows at UCB LA. Rhea has performed at all the LA ìaltî rooms; The Meltdown, UCB, Comedy Palace, Holy F*ck and more! She was part of the 2013 Bridgetown Comedy Festival, the Cleveland Accidental Comedy Festival, and the first ever Atlantic Ocean Comedy & Music Festival taking place on a boat, in the Atlantic Ocean with Wyatt Cynac, John Hodgman, Eugene Mirman, The Mountain Goats and more!
