Andie Main

Andie Main started considering the idea of stand up comedy while she was the original artist for the popular podcast Professor Blastoff (hosted by Tig Notaro, Kyle Dunnigan and David Huntsberger) After completing one original painting a week inspired by the topics discussed, which were then featured on the site www.professorblastoff.com for over a year, Andie decided to pursue stand up comedy fulltime instead. There is just no way to tell if this was yet another terrible decision.

She quickly made a name for herself in the Portland comedy scene through her caustic and insightful cynicism, adorable profanity and anarchic joy.

Now Andie produces the Portland edition of Picture This, a showcase in which artists draw the jokes comedians are telling, at Curious Comedy Theater (where she also curates the weekly stand-up offerings). She has recently performed for sold out crowds at UCBeast, UCB Chelsea and The Stand Nightclub in NYC, Doc's Lab in SF, and Helium Comedy Club in Portland.

Festival credits include Bumbershoot, Seattle Sketchfest, SF Sketchfest,The All Jane No Dick Comedy Festival, Portland Pride 2014 and Cromfest.

She has opened for TJ Miller, David Huntsberger and James Adomian, and afterwords they all said "hey Andie that was great" and got brunch because you can order brunch whenever you want in Portland.

In her spare time she enjoys taking hikes with her not-so-smart dog, punk and post punk music, making goofy paintings, nature documentaries and yelling about the patriarchy.
